Arizona Helping Hands

The mission of Arizona Helping Hands is to support foster and indigent families at times of crisis or need by providing to them basic essentials such as bedding, clothes, personal effects, holiday and special occasion toys, school supplies and emergency assistance. They also act as a resource helping to connect families to other community based services including foster care enrichment and support providers.

CNKG can help by knitting baby items because these children come into the system owning absolutely NOTHING!

There is a really excellent video on the AHH web site at  which tells what they do and shows what is in the warehouse they occupy.

"For seniors citizens who are homeless in the Phoenix area, the answer is the Justa Center, a day resource center specifically designed to help those over the age of 55 find appropriate housing, employment, and other much-needed services."

The Cactus Needles Knitting Guild supports this organization by knitting hats and scarves, donating tote bags, laundry soap, bottled water, coffee, sugar, paper goods, reading glasses, new socks, and the list goes on.

Phoenix Children's Hospital

We are donating hats for children and adults with childhood cancers getting outpatient treatment at the Children's Hospital. Often these patients loose their hair due to the treatment they are receiving.
